Much of his stuff is still listenable to me though if the playlist is classic rap.Artwork for Music to Be Murdered By Side B. Some of the songs from that recording are some of the only classic material of his that I find I still enjoy in a playlist I hear often today, well one that isn't purely classic rap. Em won me over to his team fully with TES. I was already a rap fan and had been for like forever. However my oldest daughter really liked him, I picked TES up to try and find some common ground for us, to see what she liked so much in his music. I wasn't really into him despite loving Dre at that point, and a couple of his songs, and I knew a few people who really loved his stuff. I played TF out of TES when I picked it up a week or so after it dropped. Then when TES dropped he took that throne rightfully and no one could say shit. Up into the clouds towards the rap throne he flew with his incredible skills being highlighted by the very best production in rap music at the time. I felt he was picking up altitude as Dre built him up into the artist he was capable of being. But to me, in his earlier stuff though he was great, he was capable of and was going to be much more. Not to detract from any other of his recordings. The rapping on that song is fucking incredible, the bars are straight fire while being insane and completely beyond the realm of that others were spitting.

I think that really culminated in encore and that's why encore was so bad. But again, this is eminem with nothing left to prove, no more real milestones in rap. It's not my favourite because it just feels. The eminem show was eminem, him without anything left to prove just making an album that's technically impressive with its lyrics and solid with his delivery. It has so much raw emotion as he lashes out at all the critics and even his own label, and even though in my opinion his lyrics weren't as technically impressive, his delivery was always flawless and it really cemented him as one of the goats. I think that they're all different extremes of eminem's personas.
